Role Overview
AEC Specialists apply architectural, engineering, and construction expertise using BIM and related modeling tools to support AI research and evaluation. In this role you will use domain knowledge to create and assess prompts, review AI outputs for technical accuracy, and help improve how AI systems understand real-world AEC tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop domain-specific prompts and test scenarios for large language models and other AI systems.
- Evaluate and annotate LLM responses and model outputs for technical correctness, relevance, and practical applicability.
- Provide feedback and guidance to AI research teams about real-world AEC workflows and expected outcomes.
- Work independently and asynchronously to complete assignments and meet project deliverables.
- Continue learning relevant AI evaluation methods while applying your professional AEC skills.
- At least 1+ years of full-time work experience using one or more of the following tools: VectorWorks, FreeCAD BIM/IFC, BlenderBIM (Bonsai), or other related technical tools.
- Practical experience with BIM workflows and the ability to interpret building models and construction documentation.
- Comfort working asynchronously with distributed AI research teams and completing detailed review tasks independently.
- Strong written communication skills for writing prompts, explanations, and assessment notes.
- Location: Remote, fully distributed.
- Employment type: PART_TIME.
- Asynchronous, flexible hours with no minimum hourly commitment.
- Work independently from your chosen location and schedule tasks based on project needs.
- Up to $125/hr (depending on the project).
- The program runs year-round and project opportunities open periodically across different AEC areas.
- Placement into specific projects depends on project availability and team needs at the time of assignment.
- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Work directly with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for this program.
