About this role

Help shape AI safety tools that support young people online by applying your expertise in child safety, crisis care, and digital mental-health risk assessment. This remote contract role focuses on building rigorous evaluation frameworks for vulnerable youth, with no prior AI experience required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply subject-matter expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems.
  • Develop taxonomies covering self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and emotional dependency in digital settings.
  • Set best-practice standards for digital support and clinical safety for youth and adolescent mental health.
  • Create frameworks to detect, flag, and assess potentially harmful online content or advice related to mental-health crises involving minors.
  • Design and improve clinical response rubrics and escalation protocols for at-risk people in digital environments.
  • Partner with project leads to ground benchmarks and guidelines in current research and clinical best practices.
  • Contribute insight into CSAM-adjacent policy and online exploitation dynamics to strengthen child-safety protocols.
  • Provide clear written and verbal feedback that informs ongoing AI safety tools and frameworks.
Qualifications
  • Licensed therapist, psychiatrist, clinician, or mental-health professional with direct crisis-care experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years of focused experience in adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, eating-disorder intervention, or a related field. Senior contributors with 8 to 20 years of experience are welcome.
  • Expertise in clinical risk assessment and intervention in digital or online settings.
  • Advanced degree, specialized certification, or equivalent operational experience in mental health or child-safety work.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing CSAM-adjacent policies, or working in child online-exploitation prevention initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information to varied audiences.
  • A credible, recognized record of impact in clinical care, crisis response, or safety evaluation communities.
Work Terms
  • Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
  • $50 to $90 per hour.
