About this role

Role Overview

3D Slicer specialists apply hands-on medical imaging and segmentation expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs and help improve AI performance on clinical imaging tasks. This part-time, contract role focuses on CT and MRI segmentation, surgical planning workflows, and the assessment of LLM and AI responses related to medical image analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated medical imaging content, including CT and MRI segmentations and surgical planning artifacts.
  • Provide detailed, domain-specific feedback that helps AI models better understand medical imaging tasks and clinical research workflows.
  • Develop and test domain-specific prompts and evaluate large language model responses related to imaging and clinical scenarios.
  • Work independently on asynchronous tasks, documenting findings and following project-specific instructions.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of practical work experience using 3D Slicer.
  • Hands-on experience with medical image analysis, CT or MRI segmentation, or surgical planning.
  • Familiarity with related technical tools used in medical imaging is preferred.
  • Ability to work asynchronously and communicate effectively with remote AI research teams.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time.
  • Location: fully remote.
  • Schedule: asynchronous work with flexible hours, there is no minimum hourly commitment required.
  • Independent placement: assignment to specific projects depends on project availability and fit with your skills.
Compensation
  • Up to $125/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility
  • F-1 students with valid CPT or OPT authorization may be eligible to participate, subject to your school and Designated School Official guidance.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this type of contract work may not satisfy that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for this engagement.
