Role Overview

3D Slicer Specialists apply hands-on medical image analysis, CT and MRI segmentation, and surgical planning experience to evaluate AI-generated outputs and provide actionable feedback that improves AI performance on medical imaging tasks and clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated medical imaging content using 3D Slicer and related tools.
  • Perform CT and MRI segmentation quality checks, and assess outputs for clinical plausibility and technical accuracy.
  • Provide detailed feedback to AI research teams to help refine models and prompt designs.
  • Develop domain-specific prompts and evaluate large language model responses as they relate to imaging workflows and clinical scenarios.
  • Work asynchronously with remote teams, documenting findings and recommendations for AI model improvement.
Qualifications
  • At least 1+ year of hands-on work experience using 3D Slicer.
  • Experience with medical image analysis, CT/MRI segmentation, or surgical planning.
  • Familiarity with other technical tools used in medical imaging is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate observations clearly when collaborating asynchronously with AI research teams.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time.
  • Location: fully remote, asynchronous work.
  • Schedule: flexible hours, with no minimum commitment to hours.
  • Placement into specific projects depends on project availability, and assignments may vary over time.
Compensation
  • Pay: Up to $125/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility
  • F-1 students may be eligible if they have appropriate CPT or OPT authorization. Consult your Designated School Official to determine eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this contract work may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
