About this role

Role Overview

2D design professionals apply practical 2D graphics skills to evaluate and improve AI systems'' understanding of real-world visual design and production tasks. In this role you will use tools like GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, LibreSprite and similar applications to create, critique, and assess AI outputs and developer prompts for domain-relevant scenarios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use your 2D graphics expertise to develop domain-specific prompts and test cases that reflect real professional workflows.
  • Evaluate large language model and related AI responses for accuracy, relevancy, and fidelity to 2D design practices.
  • Provide detailed feedback and annotations that help researchers refine AI behavior on tasks such as image editing, vector work, pixel art, and other 2D production activities.
  • Work asynchronously with distributed AI research teams to complete assigned evaluation and annotation tasks.
Qualifications
  • At least 1+ year of professional experience using one or more of the following tools: GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, LibreSprite, or other 2D graphics software.
  • Practical familiarity with common 2D design workflows and the ability to explain or document task steps and expected outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate findings clearly to remote research teams.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote, asynchronous work from any location.
  • Employment type: Part-time.
  • Hours: Flexible schedule with no minimum weekly hour requirement.
  • Program timing: The AI research program runs year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across different areas of expertise.
  • Placement: Assignment to specific projects depends on project availability at the time you apply.
Compensation

Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects in this program. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm your eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
