Tongan Linguist for AI Model Training

Help train next-generation AI systems by producing high-quality Tongan-English linguistic data for a global AI training project. You will transcribe audio and video, annotate timestamps, analyze emotional tone and speaker intent, and provide detailed linguistic and cultural context so models learn accurate, natural language behavior. Prior experience with AI is not required, your language expertise is the priority.

• Transcribe Tongan audio and video into accurate written text, including precise timestamps.
• Analyze and describe speakers true emotional tone, intent, and conversational context across scenarios.
• Review transcriptions for grammar, clarity, fluency, and consistency in both Tongan and English.
• Define and contextualize complex or idiomatic Tongan words and expressions for non-native users.
• Provide detailed feedback on language usage, tone, register, and linguistic nuances present in content.
• Collaborate with project coordinators to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Contribute linguistic insights and annotations that refine AI language model performance.

• Native or near-native fluency in both Tongan and English, with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated experience in audio and video transcription, including accurate timestamping.
• Strong ability to assess emotional context, tone, and speaker intent in spoken material.
• Advanced knowledge of Tongan grammar, vocabulary, idioms, and cultural context.
• Experience or background in linguistics, translation, localization, or related language services is highly regarded.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to produce well-structured linguistic analyses for complex language tasks.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to delivering high-quality results.

• Role type: Independent contractor, remote work.
• Minimum commitment: at least 15 hours of engagement per week.
• No prior AI experience required; domain expertise in language is the key qualification.

• Hourly pay range: $45 to $95 per hour.

• Must be able to legally work as an independent contractor and receive payment where you reside.
