Role Overview
Apply medical coding expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through accurate, real-world clinical data and feedback. This remote contractor role focuses on improving how models learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Annotate and review medical records, assigning accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes based on clinical documentation.
- Apply official Evaluation and Management, E&M, leveling guidelines to validate and enrich datasets.
- Use current coding references to maintain compliance with applicable coding standards.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders in writing and verbally to clarify requirements and resolve clinical-documentation ambiguities.
- Provide detailed feedback on coding guidelines and edge cases to improve workflows and model understanding.
- Contribute to the creation and validation of medical-code datasets used for AI training.
Qualifications
- Active AAPC Certified Professional Coder, CPC, certification is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical coding, ICD-10, CPT, and E&M leveling guidelines.
- Experience working with varied clinical documentation and related coding challenges.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Access to current official ICD-10 and CPT coding books and E&M guidelines.
- Familiarity with digital annotation tools or data-driven projects is preferred.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and ongoing learning in a rapidly evolving healthcare and technology environment.
Work Terms
- Remote independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
- $55 to $68 per hour.
