Role Overview

Help shape safer digital mental health experiences by applying clinical and crisis-prevention expertise to the training and evaluation of next-generation AI systems. This remote contractor opportunity focuses on mental health safety, crisis prevention frameworks, and resources that support people at risk. No prior AI experience is required, your subject matter expertise is the focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine taxonomies covering self-harm, eating disorders, emotional dependency, and suicide prevention.
  • Design frameworks to identify potentially harmful advice and crisis signals in digital settings.
  • Create and validate clinical response rubrics that prioritize mental health safety and crisis-intervention protocols.
  • Establish benchmarks for assessing risk, supporting vulnerable people, and reducing harm across digital platforms.
  • Contribute to mental health safety evaluation tools for adolescent and adult populations.
  • Review, annotate, and classify real-world scenarios for AI training with accuracy and ethical alignment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary expert community to maintain strong clinical credibility and care standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed clinician, such as a therapist, psychiatrist, or psychologist, with substantial crisis-care and clinical-safety experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years of direct practice in mental health crisis response, adolescent mental health, or a related care setting. Candidates with 8 to 20 years of experience may be considered for advanced assignments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in self-harm prevention, suicide prevention, eating disorders, or emergency mental health support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing clinical documentation, guidelines, or evaluation frameworks.
  • Advanced degree, professional certification, or equivalent demonstrated operational experience in psychology, psychiatry, or a similar field.
  • Experience with clinical risk assessment, digital mental health platforms, or relevant research is a plus.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, privacy protections, and evidence-based practice.

Work Terms

  • Remote independent-contractor engagement.

Compensation

  • $50 to $90 per hour.
