Government Quantitative Analyst for AI Model Evaluation

Government quantitative professionals apply advanced quantitative, mathematical, and data skills to evaluate AI outputs, create discipline-specific prompts, and provide structured feedback that improves model performance on government-related tasks. No prior AI experience is required. The program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different subject areas.

• Review and assess AI-generated content for accuracy, relevance, and suitability within government domain work.
• Create and refine prompts that reflect real government tasks, datasets, and terminology.
• Provide clear, structured feedback and annotations that help models learn workplace language, procedures, and problem-solving approaches.
• Evaluate model responses against real-world standards and provide examples or corrections as needed.
• Work asynchronously with project teams, following guidelines and quality standards provided for each assignment.

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in government-sector quantitative roles such as mathematician or data scientist.
• Relevant real-world responsibilities that prepare you to evaluate and train high-quality models, for example:
• Advancing mathematical knowledge through research, developing new principles, building models, and exploring theoretical relationships.
• Applying mathematical methods, including numerical analysis, computational techniques, and modeling, to solve practical problems in science, engineering, business, or security.
• Sharing expertise through mentoring, publishing or presenting research, and participating in professional learning and conferences.
• Comfort with asynchronous collaboration and the ability to follow detailed evaluation instructions provided by AI research partners.

• Location: Remote, asynchronous work from any location where you are authorized to work.
• Employment type: Part-time.
• Hours: Flexible, no minimum commitment required; most contributors average 5 to 20 hours per week on active projects.
• Project placement is project-dependent; assignments are offered as projects become available. The program operates year-round and additional opportunities are posted periodically, so applying now may lead to placement on a future project if nothing matches immediately.

• Up to $120/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students with eligible CPT or OPT authorization may qualify to participate; consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this remote project may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for this program.
