AI and Machine Learning Researcher for AI Evaluation

AI & Machine Learning Researchers evaluate AI-generated content and create expert-level training data to improve AI systems'' understanding of advanced computer science and ML research and methodology. This is a flexible, part-time, hourly contract role you can perform remotely alongside other commitments.

• Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, relevance, and adherence to current research standards.
• Create expert-level training data and annotations grounded in contemporary CS and AI/ML literature.
• Provide detailed, research-informed feedback to help improve AI behavior on topics in computer science and machine learning.
• Work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams to meet project-specific requirements and quality standards.

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field from a top 100 US university.
• Research experience in one or more of the following areas: Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Neural and Evolutionary Computing, Robotics, Systems and Control, or Multiagent Systems.
• Familiarity with arxiv.org, particularly the Computing Research Repository (cs), and the ability to interpret and apply findings from recent preprints.
• Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous environment.
• No prior commercial AI development experience is required, the role prioritizes research expertise and domain knowledge.

• Location: Remote only.
• Employment type: Part-time, hourly contract, independent contractor engagement.
• Schedule: Flexible, asynchronous work, no minimum hourly commitment.
• Typical participation: Most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
• Engagement model: Ongoing, project-based assignments. Placement on a given project depends on current project needs, with the possibility of consideration for future projects as they become available.

• Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate, but you must consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course or other course-based authorization, these projects may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for this type of engagement.

• Create an account on the engagement platform and complete the requested profile information.
• Finish required identity verification steps.
• Browse and request onboarding into relevant projects, completing any project-specific onboarding or qualification tasks.
• Once onboarded to a project, begin contributing and receiving payment under the hourly contract terms.
