About this role

Role Overview

Contribute subject matter expertise to improve how next generation AI systems learn, reason, and perform. As an AI Domain Expert, you will review AI outputs, craft realistic prompts, annotate data, and provide clear written feedback that helps train and evaluate frontier models. This is a part time contractor role, fully remote. No prior experience in AI is required, domain knowledge and strong professional writing are the priority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and critically assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy, logical consistency, and alignment with domain best practices.
  • Design and refine prompts that challenge AI reasoning and reflect realistic scenarios from your field.
  • Provide concise, constructive written feedback to improve model responses and overall performance.
  • Evaluate and annotate data with attention to detail to support model training and validation.
  • Conduct quality reviews of AI outputs, related documentation, and feedback produced by other experts.
  • Collaborate remotely with a global community of professionals to share insights and improve evaluation processes.
  • Identify and call out ethical concerns or risks in AI outputs, contributing to responsible AI development.
Qualifications
  • Required skills: data annotation, prompt engineering, critical thinking, strong written communication, domain expertise, feedback delivery, remote collaboration, attention to detail, adaptability, ethical awareness in AI, AI output evaluation, quality review, professional writing.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of professional experience in fields such as software engineering, finance, data science, or legal practice, with a record of producing high-quality written work, for example technical documentation, investment memos, legal memoranda, research papers, or strategy presentations.
  • Outstanding written English and the ability to explain complex analyses and deliver nuanced critiques in writing.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing, critiquing, or editing high-stakes documents, and the ability to work both independently and in distributed teams.
  • Exposure to data annotation, prompt engineering, or AI output evaluation is an advantage but not required.
  • Backgrounds at leading technology companies, top consulting firms, elite financial institutions, premier law firms, or world-renowned universities are valued but not mandatory.
Work Terms

Role type: Contractor, part time. Location: Remote. Engagement focuses on producing high-quality written feedback, annotations, and evaluations that feed into model training and validation. Participation will involve collaboration with a distributed network of domain experts.

Compensation

$140 to $200 per hour.
