About this role

Role Overview

Review and improve AI-generated US corporate tax research materials to ensure legal accuracy, technical rigor, and high-quality grading standards. This short-term, fully remote engagement focuses on validating model answers, assessing cited authorities, and refining rubrics and gold answers across federal corporate tax topics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review approximately 120 existing US corporate tax research questions and their draft answers.
  • Validate the legal and technical accuracy of gold-standard answers across US federal corporate tax topics.
  • Assess the quality, authority, and relevance of cited sources, including statutes, Treasury Regulations, IRS guidance, case law, and secondary authorities.
  • Verify effective dates, recent legislative changes, and evolving tax guidance, and apply those developments to answers and rubrics.
  • Review, edit, and improve grading rubrics for completeness, consistency, and technical accuracy.
  • Rewrite gold answers and rubrics where necessary to reflect current law and best practice.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of professional US tax experience.
  • CPA or JD required, LLM in Tax preferred, or equivalent experience in roles such as Tax Manager, Tax Counsel, or as a Big Four tax professional.
  • Deep expertise in US Federal Corporate Tax.
  • Strong understanding of tax research methodologies and source hierarchy.
  • Experience preparing technical tax memoranda, workpapers, tax opinions, and IRS forms.
  • Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Partnership Tax.
  • Experience with State and Local Tax, SALT.
  • Familiarity with Transfer Pricing issues, including IRC section 482.
  • Track record reviewing complex, multi-step tax analyses.
  • Ability to identify and apply recent legislative and regulatory developments, including the OBBBA and other recent tax law changes.
Work Terms
  • Location: Fully remote.
  • Engagement length: Approximately 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Time commitment: Minimum 10 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
  • Engagement type: Hourly work.
Compensation

Pay range: 120 to 140 hourly.
