Thermal Plant Performance and Emissions Analyst for AI Evaluation

Role Overview

Thermal Plant Performance & Emissions Analysts apply hands-on expertise in plant performance analysis, emissions monitoring, and greenhouse gas reporting to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert-level analytical outputs. Work is project-based and paid hourly; contributors perform real-world tasks that improve AI understanding of thermal power generation workflows and emissions compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated technical content and provide detailed feedback grounded in practical plant experience.
• Independently produce analytical work and data outputs using the same tools and workflows you use professionally.
• Complete structured project tasks that mirror real job deliverables, for example building price forecast models or drafting PPA documentation.
• Perform technical analyses such as heat rate and efficiency assessments, emissions monitoring review, and GHG inventory checks to validate model outputs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in thermal power plant performance or emissions compliance in roles such as Plant Performance Engineer, Thermal Performance or Heat Rate Engineer, Air Quality or Emissions Compliance Specialist, GHG or Sustainability Reporting Analyst, or equivalent energy industry positions.
• Bachelor''s degree or higher required.
• Ability to independently produce work using one or more of the following tools: AVEVA PI, ArcGIS.
• Demonstrated ability to independently complete workflows such as Heat Rate Efficiency Analysis and Power Plant Heat Rate Performance Analysis, EPA Continuous Emissions Monitoring Report preparation and review, and GHG Emissions Inventory and Annual Reporting.
• Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously in an asynchronous environment.

Work Terms

• Engagement type: part-time, hourly contract work performed as an independent contractor.
• Location: fully remote.
• Schedule: flexible and asynchronous, no minimum hour requirement. Most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week while participating in an active project.
• Project placement depends on current project needs. Candidates may be considered for future projects as they become available.

Compensation

• Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).

Eligibility and Work Authorization

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm whether participation meets your school''s CPT or OPT rules.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course for authorization, these projects may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for this engagement.
• Refer to the program Help Center for additional details on supported work authorizations.
