Technical Writing Specialist

Shape next-generation AI systems by producing clear, accurate developer and product documentation from real-world technical source materials. This remote contract role focuses on translating complex information into useful content for developers, business stakeholders, and other mixed audiences. Prior AI experience is not required.

• Analyze API references, developer guides, and release notes to create well-structured documentation.
• Write and edit guides, tutorials, and architecture documents that make complex technical topics accessible.
• Apply information architecture practices that improve documentation usability, discoverability, and scalability.
• Follow docs-as-code standards, style guides, and editorial guidelines to maintain consistent deliverables.
• Assess existing documentation for clarity, completeness, and accuracy, then recommend and implement improvements.
• Explain documentation decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale clearly in writing to stakeholders and collaborators.
• Contribute high-quality technical input that helps train and evaluate AI systems.

• At least 3 years of experience producing developer or product documentation, such as API documentation, integration guides, onboarding materials, tutorials, or release notes.
• Strong technical writing, developer documentation, API documentation, information architecture, editing, and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to synthesize complex concepts into concise, understandable documentation.
• Experience with docs-as-code workflows, including Markdown, Git, and CI/CD.
• Ability to apply Microsoft, Google, or custom style guides.
• Exceptional written English, with close attention to grammar, structure, terminology, and detail.
• Experience owning the structure, quality, and strategy of end-to-end documentation sets.
• A background with leading universities or highly regarded organizations is valued.

• Remote contract engagement.

$90 to $140 per hour.
