About this role

Role Overview

Operate advanced robotic manipulators and humanoid robots in a laboratory environment to produce high-quality demonstration data used to train physical AI models. This hands-on role uses leader-arm systems, VR headsets, motion controllers, and other human machine interfaces to execute structured manipulation tasks alongside robotics engineers and AI researchers at a fast paced data lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teleoperate robotic arms and humanoid robots with 1:1 real-time control using leader-arm systems, VR headsets, handheld controllers, and motion controllers within designated safety lanes.
  • Perform structured manipulation tasks and capture consistent, high quality demonstration data for real world scenarios, including picking and placing objects, sorting household items, folding clothing and fabrics, opening and closing containers, light assembly and manufacturing tasks, and multi step manipulation use cases.
  • Meet established quality and productivity metrics during each 8 hour shift; this is a metrics based role and meeting targets for accuracy and throughput is required.
  • Monitor data collection sessions, identify and report hardware or software failures, and support continuous improvements to data collection pipelines.
Qualifications
  • Excellent hand eye coordination, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hand eye coordination required for precise 1:1 robot control.
  • Gaming experience that requires precise controller input, such as first person shooter, simulation, racing, or VR gaming.
  • Experience with VR systems, for example Meta Quest, Vision Pro, SteamVR, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with data collection software and practices used to capture demonstration data is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain consistent accuracy during repetitive tasks, and a commitment to meeting quality standards.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and clear communication of technical issues to engineering teams.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast paced laboratory environment.
Work Terms
  • Employment type: Full time, on site in the United States only.
  • Shift length: 8 hour shifts. Operations run 24 hours a day with overlapping shifts to maximize productive robot hours.
  • Shift times: Shift 1: 5:45 AM to 12:00 PM, Shift 2: 11:45 AM to 6:00 PM, Shift 3: 5:45 PM to 12:00 AM, Shift 4: 11:45 PM to 6:00 AM. Overlap supports context transfer and efficient handoffs between operators.
  • Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the robotics facility for up to 6 hours per shift; full use of both arms and hands and upper body mobility; able to wear VR headsets and operate leader arms and controllers for extended periods; comfortable working safely around active robotic systems and following laboratory safety protocols.
Compensation
  • Pay range: $30.00 to $55.00 per hour.
Eligibility
  • On site, US only. Candidates must be located in the United States and able to work on site at the facility. Remote or international applicants will not be considered.
