About this role

Role Overview

Operate state-of-the-art robotic manipulators and humanoid robots in a laboratory setting to produce high-quality demonstration data that trains Physical AI foundation models. You will use real-time, 1:1 teleoperation interfaces including leader-arm systems, VR headsets, motion controllers, and other human-machine interfaces, working directly with robotics engineers and AI researchers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teleoperate robotic arms and humanoid robots using 1:1 real-time control in designated safety lanes via leader-arm systems, VR headsets, and handheld controllers.
  • Perform structured manipulation tasks and produce consistent, high-quality demonstration data for real-world tasks, including picking and placing objects, sorting household items, folding clothing and fabrics, opening and closing containers, assembly and light manufacturing tasks, and multi-step manipulation use cases.
  • Meet established quality and productivity metrics throughout each 8-hour shift.
  • Monitor data collection sessions, identify and report hardware or software failures, and support continuous improvements to data collection pipelines.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency during repetitive manipulation tasks to ensure the data meets training standards.
Qualifications
  • Required skills, experience: VR gaming experience, familiarity with data collection software.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination for precise 1:1 robot control.
  • Gaming experience that requires precise controller input, for example FPS, simulation, racing, or VR titles.
  • Experience with VR systems such as Meta Quest, Vision Pro, SteamVR, or similar headsets.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing consistent, high-quality data.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive, precision-focused work and able to learn new robotic platforms and control interfaces quickly.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Physical requirements include ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the robotics facility for up to 6 hours per shift, full use of both arms and hands, the ability to wear VR headsets and operate leader-arm systems and handheld controllers for extended periods, and the ability to work safely around active robotic systems while following laboratory safety protocols.
Work Terms
  • Employment type: Full-time, on-site, United States only.
  • Operations run 24/7 with overlapping shifts to maximize productive robot hours. Shift times are: Shift 1, 5:45 AM to 12:00 PM, Shift 2, 11:45 AM to 6:00 PM, Shift 3, 5:45 PM to 12:00 AM, Shift 4, 11:45 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • Shift overlap supports context transfer and efficient robot handoffs between operators.
  • This is a metrics-based role, operators are expected to meet established quality and productivity targets while maintaining demonstration accuracy.
Compensation
  • Pay range: $30.00 to $55.00 per hour.
Eligibility
  • Position is on-site in the United States only, candidates must be able to work on-site in the US.
