Role Overview
Lead the creation and evaluation of high-quality revenue planning scenarios used as training data for a frontier AI research project. Apply advanced spreadsheet modeling, data reconciliation, and commercial finance judgment to produce clear forecasts, variance explanations, and reconciled revenue figures that guide analysis and feed the research team.
Key Responsibilities- Create, review, and evaluate revenue and gross-margin forecasting scenarios.
- Reconcile revenue data across finance, sales, and campaign systems, and distinguish booked, billed, recognized, and collected revenue.
- Prepare budget-versus-actual reports and variance bridges, turning complex variance analyses into simple explanations of what happened, why, and recommended next steps.
- Perform profitability, cost-to-serve, and trend analysis, and define margin and cost categories consistently.
- Document assumptions clearly and identify data anomalies before they reach leadership.
- Experience at one or more of the following is strongly relevant: media or ad-tech, digital publishing, agency finance teams, e-commerce, subscription businesses, marketplace or commercial analytics functions.
- Minimum 3 years experience in FP&A, revenue analytics, commercial finance, or business intelligence.
- Advanced spreadsheet modeling skills, including strong Excel proficiency and reconciliation techniques.
- Proven ability to reconcile datasets across multiple systems and to document assumptions and data treatments.
- Experience with revenue and gross-margin forecasting, budget vs actual reporting, variance bridges, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to convert technical variance analysis into concise, actionable summaries for stakeholders.
- Engagement type: hourly, full-time commitment for the project period.
- Project dates: 10 August 2026 to 4 September 2026.
- The role contributes training data to a leading frontier AI research lab and operates on a UK business-hours rhythm.
- The project team holds live team sessions each working day and may send occasional evening messages.
- Two weeks of garden leave will be paid at the end of the engagement; a one month non-compete applies concurrently with that garden leave.
- Strong performance increases the likelihood of selection for future research projects with the program.
- Hourly rate: 150 - 150 hourly.
