About this role

Role Overview

Retail finance directors apply senior financial planning, budgeting, and variance analysis expertise to evaluate AI-generated content, create expert training data, and provide feedback that improves AI understanding of retail finance workflows and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use hands-on experience with long-range financial planning and budget management to assess the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated responses.
  • Create and annotate expert-level training examples that reflect real retail finance practices and tools.
  • Provide clear, detailed written feedback to help refine AI behavior around retail finance workflows and strategic decision making.
  • Work independently and asynchronously with research teams to meet project guidelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in senior retail finance leadership, for example Finance Director, VP of Finance, CFO, or an equivalent role in the retail industry.
  • Practical, hands-on experience with strategic finance workflows, including long-range financial planning and budget variance analysis.
  • Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate complex financial content.
  • No prior AI experience required.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type, part-time, contract role performed remotely.
  • Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement.
  • Most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
  • Ongoing, project-based participation that can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
Compensation

Paid hourly, up to $80/hr (depending on the project).

Eligibility and Work Authorization
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a specific CPT course, participation in these projects may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for this work.
Project Availability

Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs. Candidates may be considered for future projects as new opportunities become available.
