Join an innovative initiative to build realistic enterprise environments for training and evaluating frontier AI agents. As a Regulatory Law Expert, you will leverage your extensive experience in regulatory practices to recreate the digital workspaces utilized in sophisticated regulatory environments. Your role will involve designing tasks that challenge state-of-the-art AI, drawing from your real-world experience in administrative law and sector-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Construct a digital workspace that reflects your daily operations, including rule comment letters, regulatory-change analyses, compliance memos, and other relevant documents.
- Develop multi-step tasks based on actual workflows, focusing on end-to-end matters such as regulatory-change analysis and compliance-program design, requiring navigation through various applications and stakeholder interactions.
- Collaborate with fellow regulatory attorneys to shape the environment, define task scope, and ensure the realism and rigor of scenarios.
- Work asynchronously with research teams to refine task designs and establish evaluation criteria for regulatory-law agent benchmarks.
- Contribute to AI research and benchmarking, with your work directly influencing how leading labs train and evaluate new AI systems.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar admission.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time regulatory experience at an AmLaw 100 firm or within a Fortune 500 in-house regulatory/compliance team.
- Expertise in one or more regulatory areas, including:
- Financial services (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, OCC, Fed, CFPB, state DFS)
- Healthcare (FDA, CMS, HHS OIG, state health agencies)
- Energy (FERC, NRC, state PUCs)
- Telecom/tech (FCC, FTC, state attorneys general)
- Environmental/consumer-product/food-and-drug regulation
- Proficient in using Westlaw, LexisNexis, Refinitiv World-Check, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, and CUBE.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to translate regulatory workflows into structured task specifications.
This position is remote and operates on an hourly basis.
CompensationThe hourly compensation for this role ranges from $100 to $120. The project will initially begin with an effective hourly rate but will transition to a compensation model based on the throughput of quality work.
EligibilityApplicants must possess a JD and be actively admitted to the bar, along with the required regulatory experience.
