Role Overview

As a Contracting Attorney, you will leverage your legal expertise to contribute to the training of next-generation AI systems. Your insights will directly influence how models learn and perform, utilizing your domain knowledge to provide high-quality, real-world input. This role involves simulating real-world contract negotiation scenarios that are essential for training advanced AI models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises, assessing AI-generated suggestions for accuracy, risk identification, and legal soundness.
  • Review and evaluate AI responses to contract scenarios, offering expert feedback to enhance model performance and output precision.
  • Collaborate with product and research teams to refine training data, annotation guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven contract review solutions.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 3 years of in-house experience focused on technology transactions, particularly SaaS contract review, negotiation, and redlining.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate legal expertise into actionable feedback for AI systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation at the intersection of law and technology.
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
Work Terms
  • Part-time, flexible schedule.
  • Minimum commitment: 5 hours/week.
  • Maximum commitment: 20 hours/week.
  • Fellowship duration: 1 month.
Compensation

Compensation ranges from $80 to $105 per hour.

Eligibility
  • Prior exposure to AI, legal tech, or data annotation initiatives is preferred.
  • Expertise in risk mitigation strategies within SaaS contracting is a plus.
  • Publication or presentation record on legal technology topics is advantageous.
