Physicist for LLM Evaluation

Physics specialists apply advanced subject-matter expertise to help improve and evaluate AI systems across physics domains and subdomains.

This remote, primarily asynchronous engagement involves collaborating with leading AI labs to strengthen large language model performance in specialized areas of physics. You will have opportunities to explore topics that interest you, use AI to support research, and build new skills while contributing to AI work across disciplines.

• Develop physics-specific prompts for AI systems.
• Evaluate AI responses for quality, accuracy, and understanding within physics topics.
• Research relevant concepts and apply your expertise to improve AI training and evaluation work.

• Master''s degree in physics required.
• Ability to contribute effectively in a primarily asynchronous work environment.
• Confidence that your physics expertise exceeds current AI systems'' ability to understand and explain important concepts in the field.

• Part-time, remote independent contractor engagement.
• Flexible schedule, with an expected commitment of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.
• Projects run throughout the year, but assignment depends on project availability and may vary by physics domain.

Up to $50/hr (depending on the project).

• Open to U.S.-based doctoral students, doctoral candidates, and recent graduates with valid work or training authorization, including F-1/OPT, J-1, or H-1B.
• You are responsible for complying with your visa conditions and confirming eligibility with your academic program or visa sponsor before applying.
• Candidates on STEM OPT who require an I-983 cannot currently be accommodated. Individuals with an already approved I-983, or those on pre-graduation OPT, CPT, J-1, or H-1B status, are not affected. Eligibility terms may change in the future.
