Role Overview
Physics experts apply advanced physics training to evaluate AI-generated scientific content, design domain-relevant problems, and provide feedback that improves models'' physical reasoning, mathematical modeling, theoretical analysis, and quantitative problem solving.
Key Responsibilities- Create rigorous, domain-relevant questions and prompts rooted in advanced physics topics.
- Review AI-generated answers for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and physical validity.
- Provide clear corrective feedback and notes on errors in reasoning, modeling, or calculations.
- Assess technical solutions across areas such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and related subdisciplines.
- Document examples and edge cases that help refine evaluation criteria and improve future model behavior.
- Doctoral students or graduates in Physics or a closely related field, including current PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers.
- Strong background in advanced physical reasoning, mathematical modeling, theoretical analysis, and quantitative problem solving.
- Deep knowledge across core areas such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, or related subdisciplines.
- No prior AI or technical experience is required.
- Engagement type: part time, hourly contract work as an independent contractor.
- Location: fully remote, work is asynchronous and flexible.
- Typical time commitment: no minimum hours required; when active on a project most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
- This is not a traditional academic or full-time role and can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral positions, or industry employment.
- Placement on projects depends on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for additional projects as they become available.
- Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).
- Candidates must be doctoral students or degree holders in Physics or a closely related field, including those in postdoctoral roles.
- F-1 students may be eligible if they have appropriate CPT or OPT authorization; consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this type of project may not meet that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
