About this role

Role Overview

ParaView Specialists apply hands-on experience with scientific visualization, fluid dynamics simulation, and large dataset analysis to evaluate AI-generated outputs and guide AI systems to better understand computational science tasks and high-performance computing workflows. This is hourly, project-based contract work rather than a traditional full-time role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated visualizations, simulation outputs, and textual explanations for correctness, clarity, and domain relevance.
  • Provide structured, domain-specific feedback that helps improve AI performance on computational science and HPC tasks.
  • Develop and refine domain-specific prompts and test cases to probe large language model responses and visualization workflows.
  • Analyze large datasets and simulation results using ParaView and related tools to reproduce or validate AI outputs when required.
  • Work independently and communicate findings asynchronously with AI research teams, documenting examples and edge cases.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1+ year of professional experience using ParaView.
  • Practical experience in scientific visualization, fluid dynamics simulation, or large-scale data analysis.
  • Familiarity with HPC workflows and related technical tools is preferred.
  • Comfortable working asynchronously with remote research teams and providing clear, detailed written feedback.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: part-time, hourly independent contractor work.
  • Location: fully remote, asynchronous, work from anywhere.
  • Schedule: flexible hours, there is no minimum commitment to hours.
  • Project-based placement: assignment to specific projects depends on project availability and matching to your skills.
  • Expect to be assigned to projects where you will onboard into the project scope before beginning work.
Compensation

Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate, subject to your school and Designated School Official confirmation.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, the platform hosting these projects may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
  • Work authorization requirements can vary by project, confirm eligibility before applying.
