About this role

Role Overview

Nuclear professionals apply their operational, safety, and regulatory expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs for nuclear-domain tasks, assess field-specific content, and deliver clear, structured feedback that helps improve model accuracy and usefulness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop prompts and scenarios that reflect real nuclear work to test AI responses.
  • Review AI-produced content for technical accuracy, safety implications, regulatory compliance, and appropriate terminology.
  • Provide detailed, structured feedback that explains errors, suggests corrections, and describes acceptable practices or phrasing in the nuclear context.
  • Analyze responses against real-world procedures and operational expectations, and record examples for model training and improvement.
  • Work asynchronously with AI research teams to complete assigned evaluation tasks on schedule.
Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following roles: Nuclear Engineers, Nuclear Technician, Nuclear Power Reactor Operators.
  • Relevant hands-on responsibilities that provide the context needed to evaluate AI outputs, for example:
    • Operate and monitor nuclear systems to ensure stable, efficient, and safe performance, including routine testing and equipment adjustments.
    • Maintain strict safety and regulatory compliance by identifying hazards, measuring radiation, and taking corrective or emergency actions when needed.
    • Collect and analyze operational data to support reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of nuclear processes and equipment.
  • Comfortable performing asynchronous review and feedback tasks in partnership with AI research teams.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote, work from your preferred location.
  • Employment type: Part-time, hourly engagements.
  • Schedule: Flexible, asynchronous work with no minimum required hours. Most contributors average 5-20 hours per week.
  • Project placement is dependent on availability. The program operates year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different specialties.
Compensation

Up to $300/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for projects, subject to your Designated School Official confirming eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
  • Confirm your work authorization and any school-specific rules with your DSO before applying.
