About this role

Apply military writing and reporting expertise to help train next-generation AI systems using realistic, standards-aligned federal and military communications. This remote contractor role focuses on creating, reviewing, and evaluating materials that reflect authentic Department of Defense processes. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create realistic military and federal status reports, summaries, and executive updates from prompts and supplied artifacts.
  • Develop high-quality example responses for AI training.
  • Create grading rubrics and evaluation guidance based on federal and military writing best practices.
  • Evaluate AI-generated reports and provide detailed written and verbal feedback.
  • Explain stylistic differences and approaches for common documents, including Weekly Activity Reports, Situation Reports, After-Action Reviews, and executive summaries.
  • Prepare supporting materials such as decision briefs, memoranda, and action officer updates as needed.
  • Collaborate remotely with subject matter experts to incorporate varied reporting styles and branch-specific terminology.
Qualifications
  • Former U.S. Department of Defense professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Military writing expertise, including federal documentation standards, report development and evaluation, and grading-rubric creation.
  • Experience producing templated or standard reports, such as WARs, SITREPs, After-Action Reviews, or similar artifacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for technical or operational topics.
  • Experience drafting, grading, and reviewing military or federal back-office documents, PowerPoint presentations, memoranda, and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with federal documentation compliance practices.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely on detailed, procedural reporting work.
  • Experience across two or more U.S. military branches and varied roles is a plus.
Work Terms
  • Independent contractor engagement.
  • Remote work, available to contributors based in the United States only.
Compensation
  • $40 to $80 per hour.
Eligibility
