About this role

Role Overview

Math Specialists apply advanced mathematical training to evaluate and improve AI-generated content involving mathematical reasoning, proof construction, and technical problem solving. This is flexible, hourly contract work designed to fit alongside research, teaching, coursework, or industry employment rather than a full-time academic appointment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design rigorous, domain-relevant mathematics questions and problem prompts.
  • Review AI-generated solutions and explanations for accuracy, logical consistency, and mathematical rigor.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback that helps improve the system''s handling of proofs, formal reasoning, and technical problem solving.
  • Identify errors, ambiguous reasoning, and edge-case behaviors in AI outputs, and document examples for project teams.
Qualifications
  • Master''s students and graduates in Mathematics or a closely related field, including those currently enrolled in a master’s program.
  • Strong background in mathematical reasoning, proof-writing, and formal logic.
  • No prior AI or technical experience is required to participate.
Work Terms
  • Remote, part-time engagement as an hourly contractor.
  • Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement.
  • Typical participation when active on a project is approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
  • Ongoing, project-based work; placement on projects depends on current project needs.
  • Participants may be considered for additional projects as new needs arise.
  • This is not a traditional academic or full-time role.
Compensation

Hourly pay: Up to $50/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be able to take part. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this contract work may not satisfy that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for this work.
