About this role
Contribute advanced Olympiad-level mathematics expertise to a short-term research project that trains frontier AI models to solve IMO-style problems. The role focuses on creating original, high-difficulty problems and critically evaluating AI-produced solutions. This is a remote, hourly research engagement with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Key Responsibilities- Write original and advanced IMO-style mathematics problems designed to challenge frontier AI models
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, clarity, and mathematical style
- Identify logical flaws, incomplete reasoning, or insufficiently rigorous proofs in model outputs
- Provide clear, concise, and correct solutions and chain-of-thought reasoning
- Maintain extremely high standards of mathematical precision and appropriate problem difficulty
- Demonstrated expertise in Olympiad-style mathematics and problem setting
- Relevant backgrounds include math competition problem writers, selection committee members, medalists, and long-time participants
Engagement type, hourly and remote. This is a short-term, high-impact research assignment, and may be extended based on performance. Work is task-based and contributors choose how many tasks to accept. There is no cap on total weekly payments; contributors may complete as many available tasks as they choose to accept during the engagement.
Compensation- Hourly rate range: 54 to 93 per hour
- Work is paid on a pay-per-task basis, with payments tied to each fully completed and accepted problem or review
- Compensation per task varies based on problem difficulty, solution quality, and contributor efficiency
- There is no cap on total weekly payments
- Open to individuals with proven experience in Olympiad-level mathematics and problem creation
- Preferred applicants include problem writers, selection committee members, medalists, and competition participants
- Complete a brief interview, approximately 20 to 30 minutes
- Submit a short form describing your experience writing competition problems and competing in mathematics contests
