About this role

Role Overview

Apply advanced design-composition expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through analysis and annotation of editorial, poster, and marketing assets. This remote contract role focuses on turning real-world design knowledge into precise, structured inputs across print, digital, and motion media. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Annotate editorial, poster, and marketing design assets, plus short video clips, using a defined schema and precise visual-design vocabulary.
  • Break down completed designs into compositional layers and document hierarchy, geometry, style, and typographic systems in structured metadata.
  • Use cinematography and composition standards to describe video framing, movement, and visual flow.
  • Create exemplar annotations that establish quality benchmarks for the evolving dataset.
  • Identify ambiguous examples, missing categories, and annotation-schema edge cases to improve project guidelines.
  • Coordinate with project leads and quality control as annotation frameworks are updated.
  • Use Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and comparable tools to evaluate, process, and structure layered design files.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 or more years of experience as a graphic designer, visual or brand designer, layout or print specialist, editorial designer, or art director. Candidates with 7 or more years of experience or art-direction expertise are encouraged for quality leadership tracks.
  • A portfolio demonstrating advanced typography, color, layout, and visual-hierarchy work, especially in editorial and marketing design.
  • Expert proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects, Canva, or equivalent design platforms.
  • Strong command of typography, layout and grid systems, brand and template systems, design evaluation, and Adobe or Figma production workflows.
  • Ability to explain and document design concepts precisely using established design and composition terminology.
  • Bachelor''s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or an equivalent professional portfolio demonstrating relevant expertise.
  • Strong written English skills for detailed annotation and structured documentation.
  • Experience in poster, editorial, or marketing layout design. Motion design, video editing, or cinematography experience is a plus.

Work Terms

  • Remote independent-contractor engagement supporting a client project focused on design analysis and annotation.

Compensation

  • $20 to $50 per hour.
