About this role

Geological Technicians leverage their field and technical expertise to support AI research through flexible, project-based work. This role is distinct from traditional full-time positions, allowing you to evaluate AI-generated content and provide insights that enhance AI''s understanding of geological workflows, data collection, and technical practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize your professional experience to design job-related questions and assess AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance to real-world geological work.
  • Provide feedback that informs AI training and improves its understanding of geological processes.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Geological Technician or in closely related geoscience technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience in geological fieldwork, sampling, data collection, logging, or technical analysis.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while following written guidelines.
  • Professional judgment, reliability, and a high standard of discretion and confidentiality, particularly with sensitive information.
Work Terms
  • Status: Independent contractor (not a full-time employee role).
  • Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors work approximately 5, 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
  • Duration: The program runs year-round, with projects opening periodically based on current needs.
Compensation

Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).

Eligibility

F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for projects. Consult your Designated School Official to determine eligibility. Note that STEM OPT is not supported.
