Geological Technician for AI Content Evaluation

About this role
Geological Technicians apply field and laboratory experience to evaluate AI-generated geoscience content, using professional judgment to assess accuracy, relevance, and real-world applicability of workflows, data collection methods, and technical practices. This is a part-time, project-based role intended to supplement your primary employment.
Key Responsibilities- Use your hands-on geological or geotechnical experience to review AI-produced responses for technical accuracy and relevance to field and lab tasks.
- Design or refine job-related questions and scenarios that reflect real-world geological workflows, sampling, logging, and data collection practices.
- Provide detailed feedback that helps improve AI understanding of practical procedures, safety considerations, and data interpretation.
- Work independently to follow written instructions and deliver high-quality, consistent evaluations.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive or proprietary information.
- 4+ years of professional experience as a Geological Technician or in closely related geoscience technical roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting geological fieldwork, sampling, data collection, logging, or laboratory analysis.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and following written guidelines.
- No prior AI or machine-learning experience is required.
- Engagement type: Independent contractor, not a full-time employee.
- Location: Fully remote; must have a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer.
- Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors work approximately 5, 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
- Duration and availability: The program operates year-round and projects open periodically across technical areas. Placement on projects depends on current project needs; qualifying applicants may be considered for future projects as they become available.
- This role is intended as part-time, project-based work that can be performed alongside your primary employment.

Eligibility and Work Authorization- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm whether participation meets your school''s CPT or OPT requirements. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported.
- Placement and project assignment remain subject to current project needs and eligibility verification.
