About this role

Role Overview

Evaluate the realism and professional fidelity of equity research and portfolio management workflows used to train and test AI systems. You will review discrete finance tasks and decide whether the task design, context, inputs, scope, and constraints match how the work is actually done by practitioners in fundamental equity research, asset management, hedge funds, or closely related investing roles. This is a short, high-intensity Finance Sprint tied to Project Mercury, with confidential task content that may change over the engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review individual finance tasks and workflows for professional realism, clarity, scope, and internal consistency.
  • Assess whether the task inputs, context, and expected workflow reflect real-world practice in your domain.
  • Identify missing assumptions, ambiguous instructions, unsupported requirements, impractical constraints, and material edge cases.
  • Flag tasks that are too broad, too generic, or unlikely to produce meaningful signals of real finance capability.
  • Provide concise, structured written feedback and targeted recommendations to improve task realism.
  • When appropriate, cross-check task logic with trusted domain peers to maintain a consistent, high bar across the sprint.
Qualifications
  • Practitioner track, 5 to 9 years of relevant professional experience, or senior reviewer track, 9 to 15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Professional background in fundamental equity research, asset management, hedge funds, or a closely related investing role.
  • Strong financial statement analysis, forecasting, valuation, and investment judgment skills.
  • Experience covering TMT or semiconductors, or conducting event-driven and SEC-filings-intensive research, is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written communication, able to explain not only whether something is correct, but why.
  • High attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and comfort evaluating work against explicit standards.
  • For the senior reviewer track, experience reviewing analysts, approving work, designing controls, or setting quality standards is especially valuable.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote.
  • Engagement type: Hourly, short-term Finance Sprint tied to Project Mercury, beginning within the next 24 hours.
  • Duration and intensity: High-engagement work over the next week, with offers made on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Time commitment: Tasks may require completing multi-hour sessions in one sitting, typically around 2 to 4 hours each, and active participation throughout the sprint.
  • Availability and responsiveness: You must keep Slack notifications on, monitor project updates, and respond to questions and feedback within the day.
  • Confidentiality: Task content is confidential and may vary during the sprint; you must treat materials accordingly.
Compensation

Hourly pay range: 210 - 270 hourly.

Eligibility and Application Notes
  • Offers will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so prompt application is required.
  • Apply only if you can start within 24 hours and remain actively involved and responsive for the one-week sprint.
  • The application implies immediate availability to engage with tasks, provide timely feedback, and uphold confidentiality for the duration of the sprint.
