About this role

Role Overview

Evaluate finance workflows and individual task prompts for professional realism during a focused, high-intensity Finance Sprint within Project Mercury. Your judgment will determine whether task inputs, context, scope, and constraints match real-world practice in model risk, compliance, payments, and related financial controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review individual finance tasks and end-to-end workflows for realism, clarity, scope, and internal consistency.
  • Assess whether task inputs, provided context, and expected workflows reflect how the work is actually performed in your domain.
  • Identify missing assumptions, ambiguous instructions, unsupported requirements, impractical constraints, and material edge cases.
  • Flag tasks that are too broad, too generic, or unlikely to produce a meaningful signal of real finance capability.
  • Provide concise, structured written feedback and targeted recommendations to improve task realism.
  • When appropriate, cross-check task logic with trusted domain peers to preserve high standards across the sprint.
Qualifications
  • 6 to 12 years of relevant experience for the practitioner track, or 10 to 16 years for the senior reviewer track.
  • Professional experience in one or more of the following: model risk management, model validation, compliance, payments, fraud, AML, sanctions, or adjacent financial-services controls.
  • Direct knowledge of one or more payments rails and the operational risks that affect them.
  • Strong understanding of governance, documentation, testing, monitoring, controls, and issue remediation.
  • Excellent written communication, able to explain not only whether something is correct, but why.
  • High attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and comfort evaluating work against explicit standards.
  • For the senior reviewer track, experience reviewing analysts, approving work, designing controls, or setting quality standards is especially valuable.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote.
  • Employment type: hourly.
  • Start window: engagement begins within the next 24 hours.
  • Duration and intensity: this is a short, high-engagement sprint taking place over the next week. Candidates must remain actively involved for the sprint duration.
  • Task cadence and time commitment: tasks may require concentrated work, often completed in one sitting, typically about 2 to 4 hours each. Expect multiple such tasks during the sprint.
  • Communication: you must keep Slack notifications enabled and respond to project updates, questions, and feedback within the day.
  • Confidentiality: task content is confidential and may vary during the sprint.
  • Offers are made on a first-come, first-served basis; apply only if you can maintain active participation for the sprint.
Compensation
  • Hourly rate: 70 to 90 per hour.
Eligibility

No specific work-authorization requirements were provided in the source. Candidates should be available to participate remotely, able to enable real-time communications via Slack, and ready to begin within 24 hours of offer.

Application Process

Apply as soon as possible. Because offers are first-come, first-served, you will be asked to confirm immediate availability and your ability to stay actively engaged throughout the one-week sprint. Selected candidates will receive confidential task material and provide structured written feedback and recommendations during the sprint.
