About this role

Role Overview

This role evaluates finance tasks and workflows to confirm they reflect real professional practice in FP&A, controllership, and operating finance. You will join a focused, short-term Finance Sprint for an AI research project, applying your domain judgment to judge task realism, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate individual finance tasks and workflows for professional realism, clarity, scope, and internal consistency
  • Determine whether task inputs, context, and expected workflows match how the work is performed in real practice
  • Identify missing assumptions, ambiguous instructions, unsupported requirements, impractical constraints, and material edge cases
  • Flag tasks that are too broad, too generic, or unlikely to produce meaningful evidence of finance capability
  • Provide concise, structured written feedback with targeted recommendations to improve task realism
  • When appropriate, cross-check task logic with trusted domain peers to uphold quality across the sprint
Qualifications
  • Practitioner track: 5 to 10 years of relevant FP&A experience, or 6 to 12 years of relevant controllership experience
  • Senior reviewer track: 10 to 18 years of relevant finance or controllership experience
  • Professional background in FP&A, strategic finance, RevOps, business intelligence, controllership, accounting, or closely related operating-finance roles
  • Strong financial modeling, management reporting, planning, controls, and business-partnering skills
  • CPA certification strongly preferred for accounting and controllership-focused work
  • Excellent written communication, able to explain not only whether something is correct, but why
  • High attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and comfort evaluating work against explicit standards
  • Experience reviewing analysts, approving work, designing controls, or setting quality standards is especially valuable for senior reviewers
Work Terms
  • Location: remote
  • Engagement type: hourly
  • Project timing: sprint begins within 24 hours and runs over the next week
  • Level of involvement: high-engagement, active participation required throughout the sprint
  • Typical task length: multi-hour assignments often completed in one sitting, typically about 2 to 4 hours each
  • Communication expectations: keep Slack notifications enabled and respond to project updates, questions, and feedback within the day
  • Offer process: roles are filled on a first-come, first-served basis
Compensation

95 to 125 hourly

Eligibility and Application Process
  • Apply only if you can commit to being actively involved for the duration of the sprint and can begin within 24 hours of selection
  • Offers are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so prompt applications increase the chance of being selected
  • Task content is confidential and may vary during the sprint
  • If selected, you will be expected to monitor Slack and respond within the day for the sprint period
