Role Overview
Environmental Science Professionals apply domain expertise to evaluate and improve how AI models understand and perform real-world environmental tasks and language. You will contribute to projects that test and refine model outputs using your professional judgment, working remotely and asynchronously.
Key Responsibilities- Apply environmental science expertise to help AI systems better interpret and perform professional tasks and language in the environmental domain.
- Develop industry-specific prompts and test scenarios that reflect real-world workflows and terminology.
- Evaluate responses from large language models and provide accurate, domain-informed feedback.
- Participate in a range of project types across environmental specialties as opportunities arise.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following roles: Conservation Scientist; Environmental Scientist and Specialist, including Health; Soil and Plant Scientist; Environmental Engineer; Geoscientist, except Hydrologists and Geographers; Geological Technician, except Hydrologic Technicians.
- Comfort with primarily asynchronous work and the ability to collaborate with AI research partners on remote projects.
- Remote, asynchronous work; perform tasks independently from your location.
- Part-time engagement with flexible hours and no minimum hourly commitment.
- The program operates year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across different specialties.
- Placement into specific projects depends on project availability.
- Up to $100/hr (depending on the project)
- F-1 students with valid CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for this program.
