Role Overview
Environmental Analysts apply environmental assessment, GIS, and renewable energy siting expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs and to create expert-level training data that improves AI understanding of environmental workflows and geospatial data practices.
Key Responsibilities- Use hands-on experience with environmental assessment, GIS analysis, and renewable energy siting to review AI-generated content for technical accuracy and relevance.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback on AI responses to reflect real-world environmental workflows and decision-making.
- Create and annotate expert-level training examples based on the tools and methods you use in your daily work.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams, documenting edge cases, common errors, and context needed for correct interpretation of geospatial data.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in environmental analysis, GIS, or renewable energy siting.
- Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Environmental Analyst, GIS Analyst, Interconnection Specialist, Solar Design Engineer, or equivalent positions in the energy industry.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: ArcGIS, Oracle MDM, Aurora Solar.
- Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with research teams.
- No prior AI experience is required.
- Engagement type: flexible, hourly contract work, not a traditional full-time employment role.
- Location: fully remote.
- Employment type: part time.
- Schedule: asynchronous and flexible, with no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
- Project placement depends on current project needs, and participation in one project does not guarantee placement on subsequent projects; contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Up to $85/hr (depending on the project)
