Building Energy Auditor for AI Evaluation

Energy Auditors apply building energy modeling, auditing, and performance benchmarking expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs and deliver expert analyses and feedback. This project-based, hourly contract work asks you to reproduce professional deliverables and guide AI systems to better reflect real-world building energy workflows.

• Review and evaluate AI-generated content related to building energy modeling, auditing, and performance benchmarking, identifying errors and gaps.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback that improves AI understanding of professional workflows and best practices.
• Independently produce expert-level analytical work and data outputs using the same tools and processes you use in practice.
• Complete real work tasks in a structured, project format, for example building price forecast models or preparing PPA documentation.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in building energy management, energy auditing, or energy modeling.
• Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Energy Auditor, Building Energy Modeler, HVAC Energy Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, LEED Energy Modeler, or ENERGY STAR Specialist.
• Hands-on experience with one or more tools such as EPA Portfolio Manager or eQUEST.
• Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously.

• Engagement type: part-time, hourly contract, independent-contractor style work.
• Location: fully remote.
• Schedule: flexible, asynchronous hours with no minimum hour requirement.
• Typical time commitment: most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
• This is an ongoing, project-based role that can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
• Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs. Contributors may be considered for future projects as new needs arise.

• Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
• If your school requires CPT to be tied to a course, these projects may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for participation in these projects.
