About this role
Energy auditors apply building energy modeling, auditing, and performance benchmarking expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that improves AI understanding of building energy workflows and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Independently produce expert-level analysis and data outputs using the tools and workflows of your professional practice.
- Review AI-generated content and deliver clear, detailed feedback grounded in hands-on building energy experience.
- Complete structured project tasks, which may include building price forecast models or developing PPA documentation.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in building energy management, auditing, or modeling.
- Experience as an Energy Auditor, Building Energy Modeler, HVAC Energy Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, LEED Energy Modeler, ENERGY STAR Specialist, or in an equivalent building energy or sustainability role.
- Hands-on experience with EPA Portfolio Manager, eQUEST, or both.
- Strong written communication, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous environment.
- Part-time, independent contractor engagement performed fully remotely.
- Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement.
- Contributors typically work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week while assigned to an active project.
- This ongoing, project-based work may be compatible with research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
- Project placement depends on current needs, and qualified applicants may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility- F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires a CPT course, this engagement may not meet your school''s requirements.
- STEM OPT is not supported.
