Electrical Engineering Researcher for AI Evaluation

About this role
Electrical engineering researchers apply deep expertise in signal processing, systems and control, and related electrical engineering disciplines to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert-level training data that improves AI understanding of engineering research and methodology.
Key Responsibilities- Use your research background to create and curate expert-level training data grounded in electrical engineering literature and methods.
- Assess AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, relevance, and fidelity to current research in areas such as signal processing, systems and control, and image and video processing.
- Provide clear, written feedback that helps refine AI behavior and model outputs.
- Work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams to complete evaluation tasks and data creation.
- No prior AI experience required, contributions rely on domain research expertise and strong written communication.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Systems Science, or a related field from a top 100 US university.
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal Processing or Audio and Speech Processing, Image and Video Processing, Systems and Control.
- Familiarity with arxiv.org, especially the Electrical Engineering and Systems Science repository (eess).
- Strong written communication skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously on asynchronous tasks.
- Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time, remote work.
- Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no required minimum hours; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week while participating in an active project.
- This is a project-based engagement rather than a traditional full-time position, allowing contributors to take on other commitments concurrently.
- Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, with the possibility of being considered for future projects as they become available.
- Pay: Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).
- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility, because if your school requires enrollment in a CPT course this arrangement may not meet that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for this engagement.
