Role Overview
Create original, executable scientific-computing evaluation problems that challenge leading AI models. This remote, hourly opportunity focuses on chemistry research tasks with a strong coding component.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop research problems grounded in quantum chemistry and computational chemistry.
- Use source material such as published papers, Kaggle datasets, open-source repositories, or original scenarios you design.
- Write clear scientific prompts based on the selected input material.
- Create grading criteria that define a correct response.
- Test and calibrate tasks against frontier AI models, releasing tasks only when strong models fail more often than they succeed.
Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, physical chemistry, theoretical chemistry, computational chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated depth in both quantum chemistry and computational chemistry.
- Working proficiency in Python, R, or another relevant scientific-computing language.
- Comfort using Git or GitHub and running code in Docker within a pull-request workflow with automated quality checks.
- Peer-reviewed publications and prior scientific software or research engineering experience are preferred.
Work Terms
- Remote, hourly engagement.
- Six-week project with an immediate start date.
- Part-time commitment of at least 20 hours per week.
Compensation
$70 per hour.
