About this role

Role Overview

Chemistry experts apply advanced chemical knowledge to evaluate and improve AI-generated scientific content. This part-time, hourly contract role focuses on assessing model outputs for chemical accuracy and providing domain-specific feedback that strengthens AI reasoning about experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data interpretation, and technical problem-solving. Work is fully remote and project-based, and can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral positions, or industry employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design rigorous, domain-relevant questions and evaluation prompts grounded in chemistry.
  • Review AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and chemical validity.
  • Provide clear, detailed feedback and corrections to improve model outputs.
  • Document examples of strong and weak model reasoning to guide future training and evaluation.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral students and graduates, including those currently enrolled in a PhD program or in postdoctoral positions, in Chemistry or closely related fields.
  • Strong expertise in advanced chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data analysis, and core principles across subdisciplines such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, materials, or computational chemistry.
  • No prior AI or technical experience required.
Work Terms
  • Part-time, hourly contract work, fully remote.
  • Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement.
  • Typical participation during an active project is approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
  • This is not a traditional academic or full-time role.
  • Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, and contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation

Up to $75/hr (depending on the project)
