About this role

Biomedical engineering graduates can apply their subject-matter expertise to AI research projects that improve how large language models understand and explain specialized biomedical engineering concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Be a junior, senior, or graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering.
  • Be enrolled at or have graduated from a top-20 undergraduate institution.
  • Have expertise that can exceed current AI systems in understanding and explaining key concepts in biomedical engineering.

Work Terms

  • Remote, part-time, primarily asynchronous work that can be completed independently from your location.
  • Flexible schedule with an expected commitment of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • The year-round project cohort has varying availability by domain, and placement depends on project availability.

Compensation

  • Up to $50/hr (depending on the project).

Eligibility

  • Open to U.S.-based doctoral students, doctoral candidates, and recent graduates with valid work or training authorization, including F-1/OPT, J-1, or H-1B status.
  • You are responsible for complying with your visa conditions and confirming eligibility with your academic program or visa sponsor before applying.
  • Candidates on STEM OPT who require an I-983 cannot currently be accommodated. Candidates with an already approved I-983, as well as those on pre-graduation OPT, CPT, J-1, or H-1B, are not affected.
