Role Overview
As a PhD-level biologist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety of advanced AI models. Your scientific expertise will be applied to evaluate and improve how these models address specialized life-science topics. No prior experience in AI or machine learning is necessary, as training will be provided on the workflow.
Key Responsibilities- Write expert-level prompts across specialized life-science topics.
- Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
- A PhD in biology or a closely related life-science field, either ongoing or completed (e.g., molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, immunology).
- Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in your subfield.
- Strong scientific reasoning and writing skills in English.
- Sound judgment regarding biosecurity and the responsible handling of dual-use information.
- Research or coursework related to biosafety/biosecurity, pathogen biology, or gain-of-function considerations.
- Experience in reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
Commitment: Part-time (15, 25 hours per week, with flexibility up to 40 hours per week)
CompensationHourly rate: $65 - $70
