Role Overview
Apply deep, hands-on expertise in atomic layer deposition and thin-film processes to generate, structure, and evaluate scientific data used to train and evaluate advanced AI models for semiconductor and physical-science applications. Your technical judgments will directly shape how these models reason about deposition, materials, and semiconductor processing.
Key Responsibilities- Provide subject-matter expertise in ALD process development, precursor chemistry, and thin-film characterization to produce high-quality training and evaluation data.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning, identifying errors and improving technical accuracy.
- Design and solve expert-level problems in ALD and semiconductor processing, including process optimization and troubleshooting.
- Rate and rank model outputs against defined scientific criteria, documenting clear, written technical reasoning for each evaluation.
- Structure technical knowledge, including process parameters, recipes, and characterization results, into well-organized, model-ready data formats.
- Deliver reliable, reproducible, high-quality work on the timelines and milestones provided.
- Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, or troubleshooting ALD processes.
- Deep knowledge of thin-film deposition relevant to semiconductor or advanced-packaging applications.
- Strong understanding of precursor chemistry and surface reaction mechanisms.
- Experience with materials characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, ellipsometry, or similar methods.
- Advanced degree such as PhD or MS in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Clear written English, with the ability to explain technical reasoning precisely.
- Type: Long-term, ongoing engagement.
- Engagement level: Up to 40 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.
- Work arrangement: Remote, candidates must be based in the United States.
- Employment basis: Hourly engagement.
$84 per hour.
Eligibility- Must be located in the United States and able to work remotely from within the US.
- Ability to produce clear, technical written evaluations and to follow defined scientific criteria for data generation and model assessment.
