Nuclear Engineer for AI Model Training

About this role
Role Overview
Nuclear engineers can apply their technical and operational expertise to AI research projects by evaluating field-specific model outputs, assessing nuclear engineering content, and providing clear, structured feedback. No prior AI experience is required. You will also develop realistic prompts based on nuclear engineering work and evaluate the responses they generate.
Key Responsibilities
- Use professional nuclear engineering knowledge to assess and improve AI outputs related to workplace tasks, technical language, and field-specific content.
- Develop and evaluate prompts reflecting nuclear engineering work.
- Apply experience in areas such as nuclear equipment, reactor cores, radiation shielding, instrumentation, controls, facility operations, safety compliance, emergency corrective actions, accident analysis, plant operations and maintenance, reactors, fuel reprocessing, environmental compliance, fuel or waste handling, technical reporting, environmental impact reporting, radiation-affected site remediation, fuel behavior and fuel-cycle testing, radioactive-waste reduction, experimental design, preventive measures, vendor or contractor discussions, nuclear-material use, waste disposal, environmental studies, nuclear research, and independent technical study.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of professional experience in one or more nuclear engineering responsibilities or related areas listed above.
- Ability to work independently and participate in asynchronous collaboration with AI research teams.
Work Terms
- Remote, part-time, asynchronous contract work.
- Flexible schedule with no minimum commitment. Most participants average 5 to 20 hours per week.
- Projects are available year-round and open periodically across areas of expertise. Assignment to a specific project depends on project availability; if a current project is not available, additional projects may open later.
Compensation
Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility
F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible. Confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official. If your school requires a CPT course, this work may not satisfy that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
