Role Overview
Create accurate, document-driven journalism that helps improve next-generation AI systems. This remote contractor role focuses on turning complex public records, reports, and lengthy source materials into clear, factual, non-opinion narratives. No previous AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze public records, reports, and extensive documents to identify and synthesize key findings.
- Verify sources and fact-check all content for accuracy and credibility.
- Write concise summaries and full-length articles using journalistic structures such as strong leads and the inverted pyramid.
- Produce clear, context-rich reporting from provided document sets.
- Participate in editorial review cycles and incorporate feedback to improve clarity, structure, and factual consistency.
- Maintain research-method documentation and citation trails for transparency and future reference.
- Communicate findings clearly in writing and verbally while collaborating with project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of reporting or correspondent experience at a recognized media outlet.
- Strong document-based research, source verification, fact-checking, and long-document synthesis skills.
- Experience covering document-heavy beats, such as investigative journalism, business, or science.
- A demonstrated record of verifiable reporting, rather than opinion or commentary.
- Ability to turn complex material into engaging, well-structured narratives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Familiarity with journalistic standards for public records, citations, and transparency.
- Remote collaboration experience with editorial or project teams is a plus.
Work Terms
- Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
- $40 to $75 per hour.
