About this role
This role involves collaborating with leading AI labs on an initiative to create realistic enterprise environments for training and evaluating frontier AI agents. Experienced public health professionals from major federal agencies, large state or county health departments, and top R1 schools of public health are invited to recreate the digital workspaces they utilize daily and design tasks that challenge state-of-the-art AI.
Your expertise in epidemiology, health policy, program management, or population health will be essential in building a high-fidelity environment that reflects the tools, files, and workflows of a major public health organization, while also authoring tasks based on your current programs.
Key Responsibilities- Build a realistic digital workspace centered on the Drive folders you use daily, including surveillance summaries, grant applications, program evaluations, health-assessment reports, policy briefs, outbreak write-ups, and relevant email threads, along with representations of supporting platforms such as Esri ArcGIS, SAS or MATLAB, and Socrata open-data portals.
- Design multi-step tasks based on your real workflows that require navigating multiple applications, files, and stakeholders, effectively challenging frontier AI agents.
- Collaborate with other public health experts to design the environment, shape task scope, and review scenarios for realism and rigor.
- Work asynchronously with research teams to refine task designs and establish evaluation criteria for public health agent benchmarks.
- Contribute to frontier AI research and benchmarking, with your work directly informing how leading labs train and evaluate the next generation of AI systems.
- 3+ years of full-time experience at a federal health agency, large state or county health department, major academic school of public health, or Fortune 500 population health organization.
- Background in one or more areas such as epidemiology, surveillance, outbreak investigation, health policy, health-services research, program evaluation, population/community health program management, grants administration, or environmental/occupational health.
- Advanced degrees such as MPH, PhD, or DrPH are a plus, along with fluency in biostatistics or GIS.
- Proficient in Esri ArcGIS, Google Maps Platform, SAS, MATLAB, and Socrata or Esri ArcGIS Hub.
- Strong analytical thinking and writing skills, with the ability to translate public health workflows into structured task specifications.
