Role Overview
Help strengthen complex engineering tasks based on mission-critical data-center design and field scenarios. In this technical peer-review role, you will evaluate task materials, resolve gaps, and verify that deliverables and grading methods align with professional engineering practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Review long-horizon tasks covering data-center cooling, hydronic and process-water systems, coolant distribution units, heat exchangers, HVAC and equipment integration, electrical systems, building controls, and commissioning.
- Evaluate engineering assumptions, calculations, application of codes and standards, equipment data, operating sequences, redundancy, and constructability.
- Identify ambiguous requirements, conflicting source documents, missing constraints, and unrealistic deliverables.
- Improve task prompts, supporting artifacts, acceptance criteria, rubrics, and programmatic checks.
- Document clear technical findings and validate corrected tasks from end to end.
Qualifications
- Typically 2+ years of experience in data-center or other mission-critical MEP design, controls, commissioning, or operations.
- Relevant backgrounds include Senior or Lead Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Plumbing or Process Engineer, Controls or BAS Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, MEP Design Manager, or Technical Director.
- Strong knowledge of data-center systems and applicable codes and standards. A PE license or recognized commissioning credential is preferred.
- Experience with a leading multidisciplinary, mission-critical, or consulting engineering firm is strongly preferred.
- Ability to interpret extensive document sets, drawings, schedules, calculations, equipment submittals, and machine-readable data.
- Precise, detail-oriented written communication and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
Work Terms
- Remote, hourly engagement.
- Immediate start.
- Approximately 5 to 10 hours per week initially.
Compensation
- $80 to $130 per hour, based on experience and role fit.
