As a Contract Law Expert, you will evaluate AI''s reasoning regarding contractual obligations, utilizing your skills in contract drafting, UCC transactions, breach of contract analysis, and commercial dispute resolution. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your legal knowledge in an innovative field, with no prior AI experience required.
Key Responsibilities- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to U.S. contract law hypotheticals, including formation issues, breach analysis, UCC Article 2 sale-of-goods disputes, and damages calculations.
- Apply a structured legal rubric to assess issue spotting, accuracy of common law and UCC principles, and proper application of contract interpretation doctrines.
- Identify gaps in AI reasoning around consideration, conditions, anticipatory repudiation, liquidated damages, and third-party beneficiary rights.
- Provide detailed, high-quality annotations and written feedback to refine AI models.
- Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align evaluation standards and project goals.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school; Bar admission (active/inactive).
- 3+ years of U.S. legal practice in contract law, commercial transactions, or commercial litigation.
- Strong reasoning skills across common law contracts, UCC, and commercial agreements.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- High ethical standards; interest in AI is a plus.
- Commitment: Flexible, 10, 30 hrs/week.
- Duration: ~1 month, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
