About this role

As a Software Engineer specializing in Clinical Data, you will play a crucial role in developing backend integration services that facilitate the transfer of clinical data between electronic health record (EHR) systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies such as HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHR APIs, all while utilizing TypeScript and Node.js to create robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain TypeScript/Node.js services for EHR integrations.
  • Architect integration services leveraging HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHR APIs.
  • Deploy microservices on AWS, ensuring data validation, monitoring, and adherence to HIPAA-compliant security standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to system-design discussions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted coding tools to enhance development efficiency and collaborate with product managers on clinical workflow solutions.
Core Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building production systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience in a healthcare startup or health-data integration platform, with familiarity in FHIR, HL7, patient identity management, or clinical data modeling.
  • Strong foundation in computer science principles, including algorithms, data structures, OOP, concurrency, and distributed systems.
  • Experience in designing and implementing RESTful or event-driven APIs.
  • Knowledge of microservices or cloud-native application scaling, particularly with AWS or Kubernetes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States; this role requires on-site presence in Seattle, WA or Madison, WI.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OAuth2.0 / SMART on FHIR authentication flows.
Work Terms

This is a full-time, on-site W-2 employment position based in Seattle, WA or Madison, WI.

Compensation

The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $55 to $75.
