About this role
As a Personal Consumer Research Expert, you will play a pivotal role in advancing consumer research methodologies in collaboration with leading AI labs. Your primary responsibility will be to create long-horizon research tasks that reflect your existing work. Each task will be evaluated using a deterministic rubric that measures agent performance against verifiable ground truth, ensuring that all tasks have checkable answers without subjective interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop scenarios for:
- Product research: Create shortlists that adhere to specified requirements and budget constraints, including total cost of ownership (TCO) calculations with accurate totals.
- Service provider comparisons: Evaluate options for insurance, internet, and utilities based on a defined rubric, documenting the winning choice.
- Major purchase analysis: Gather quotes according to established rules and explore negotiation strategies based on policy references.
- Engage in challenging tasks that require extended focus and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product research, personal procurement, journalism, review writing, or related fields.
- Proficiency in one or more areas: product specification analysis, service provider comparison (insurance, internet, utilities), quote gathering and negotiation, TCO modeling.
- Ability to read and produce various research artifacts, including comparison tables, shortlists, negotiation briefs, and TCO spreadsheets.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate reasoning and encode it into deterministic rubrics.
- Must be located in the United States or Canada.
This is a remote, hourly position.
CompensationCompensation ranges from $50 to $65 per hour, depending on your expertise and previous experience. High-performing contributors will have opportunities for promotion based on the quality of their work and productivity.
