About this role

Role Overview

Machine Learning experts apply their research and theoretical knowledge to evaluate AI-generated content and provide technical feedback on model architectures, optimization, statistical learning, and technical problem solving. This role supports AI research through project-based, hourly contract work and can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral positions, or industry employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design rigorous, domain-relevant questions and evaluation prompts grounded in machine learning theory.
  • Review AI-generated responses for accuracy, logical consistency, and technical soundness across topics such as optimization, generalization, and model behavior.
  • Provide detailed feedback that helps improve AI systems understanding of model architectures, optimization theory, and statistical learning.
  • Contribute asynchronously to projects, following project-specific instructions and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral students or graduates, including current PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers, in Machine Learning or closely related fields such as Statistics, Computer Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
  • Strong background in machine learning theory, algorithmic analysis, and applied mathematics, including familiarity with optimization, probabilistic modeling, and statistical inference.
  • No prior AI evaluation experience is required to participate.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type, hourly contract work as an independent contractor.
  • Part time, fully remote, with a flexible, asynchronous schedule.
  • No minimum weekly hour requirement, most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when active on a project.
  • Placement on projects depends on current project needs, with the possibility of being considered for additional projects as they become available.
Compensation
  • Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate, subject to their school policies. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course for authorization, this type of project work may not satisfy that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for this work.
  • Refer to the help center article for more detail on supported work authorizations.
Application Process
  • Create a candidate account on the platform.
  • Complete identity verification as required.
  • Review available projects, join and complete project-specific onboarding for those that match your expertise.
  • Begin contributing to project tasks and submit work for review to receive payment.
