As a Library & Information Science Expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of information management. This expert-level position allows you to leverage your extensive knowledge of library science to support innovative projects and develop effective digital resource strategies from a remote location.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and evaluate information management policies, metadata standards, and best practices.
- Curate, organize, and maintain digital and physical collections using cutting-edge library technologies.
- Advise on library system selection, deployment, and optimization to enhance resource discovery and user experience.
- Conduct advanced research, data analysis, and synthesis to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Produce high-quality written documentation, reports, and user guides for various stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and communication.
- Master’s degree or above in Library & Information Science or a related field.
- Significant experience working in academic, public, or special libraries.
- Expert knowledge of cataloging rules, metadata schemas, and digital resource management.
- Proficiency with library management systems and digital repository software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing clarity and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience implementing digital transformation projects in library settings.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in information science, including artificial intelligence and open access initiatives.
- Certification from ALA or other recognized library associations.
Contract position with remote work flexibility.
Compensation:Hourly rate ranging from $20 to $50.
Eligibility:Open to candidates with the required qualifications and experience.
