Role Overview
As a General Accounting Expert, you will play a pivotal role in advancing frontier agent evaluations in accounting by developing long-horizon accounting tasks that reflect real-world scenarios. Each task will be accompanied by a deterministic rubric to evaluate agent performance against verifiable ground truth, ensuring that answers are checkable and objective.
Key Responsibilities- Design and create scenarios for:
- Transactional accounting: Develop journal entries that balance and align with specified accounts, and manage AP/AR with defined cash application rules.
- Close processes: Construct reconciliations with known reconciled balances, manage accruals linked to source invoices, and execute intercompany eliminations that net to zero.
- Supporting analysis: Provide flux explanations against a ground-truth variance.
- Engage in challenging tasks that require extended periods of focus.
- Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a staff or senior accountant.
- Expertise in one or more areas such as reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and AP/AR at scale using major ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, Intacct).
- Proficient in reading and producing accounting artifacts including journal entry packages, reconciliations, close checklists, trial balances, and workpapers.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Must be located in the United States or Canada.
This is a remote position with an hourly employment type.
CompensationThe hourly rate ranges from $50 to $70, depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors will have opportunities for promotion based on task quality and throughput.
