About this role
As a Controllership Expert, you will play a pivotal role in advancing frontier agent evaluations in technical accounting and reporting. This position involves creating long-horizon technical accounting tasks that reflect your existing expertise, each accompanied by a deterministic rubric to assess agent performance against verifiable ground truth. Your work will focus on developing scenarios that require checkable answers, avoiding subjective judgments.
Key Responsibilities- Design scenarios for external reporting, including financial statements with defined tie-out numbers and consolidations that roll to a specified total.
- Create technical accounting scenarios based on ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 805 fact patterns, ensuring each has a documented correct conclusion and citation.
- Develop policy and controls scenarios, including SOX narratives with required control attributes and statutory packages with required fields.
- Engage in challenging tasks that require extended periods of focus and concentration.
- BS or MS in Accounting with 5+ years of experience in controllership, technical accounting, or external reporting.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in one or more areas: ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, consolidations, SEC reporting, and SOX.
- Proficient in reading and producing controllership artifacts such as financial statements, technical memos, consolidation workpapers, and control narratives.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics.
- Must be located in the United States or Canada.
This is a remote position with an hourly employment type.
CompensationThe compensation for this role ranges from $90 to $120 per hour, depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors will have opportunities for promotion based on task quality and throughput.
